Welcome! This is a chat room where citizens can directly ask Comelec about concerns, complaints, or suggestions they have about upcoming 2025 Philippine elections. Comelec education and information department staff are in this chat room to answer your questions. You can tag them at @568perday @Kael @Lyram @Lors @Frances Andrea Alonzo @Smol and @Leo Lim. Also in this chat are Rappler election reporter @Dwight de Leon and myself, Rappler head of community.
There are different coalitions being established related to electoral reforms,
are there any initiatives from the Government to have a unified approach in terms of assuring value-driven campaigns and promote interoperability for all sectors, Academe, Church, and Youth.
Any thoughts on this from the panelists?
My takeaways in "Ambag Natin" Championing Fact check for an informed choice, a roadshow on voter empowerment and civic engagement .. For me it serves as a proactive response to the challenges posed by misinformation in the electoral process, emphasizing community engagement, education, and the importance of reliable information for informed voting choices.

Question for Mr. Pua
What is your stand regarding on the issue of political dynasty here in lipa, ( Political Patrionage)
𝐾𝑦𝑢𝑟𝑦𝑜𝑠𝑇𝑜𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑒: In a world where fabrication is instant, paano po nasisigurado ng COMELEC ang kredebilidad at pagiging lehitimo ng mga kandidatong, miski ng mga botante, sa darating Eleksyong 2025.

Question:
As we know anyone can provide platforms or advocacies for the existing problem in our society. However, in what ways can we challenge or encourage our politicians to propose a more practical solution and/or platforms to our society. In addition to that, is it possible to create a law that would account politicians for their 'promised' platforms.
We are living in an era where information has never been more accessible. This has made people more informed, may the information be factual or incorrect. For my question, we will focus on those who are factually informed on the importance of voting. The way I see it, these people are divided — one side knows the struggles of their community, understands the importance of voting, and has registered to vote in order to try and make a change. On the other hand, the other side is essentially the same except for the part where they refuse to vote because they notice patterns in their communities (say for example, political dynasties) that make them hesitant to vote because they think nothing will change. My question is: what is the best way to utilize the media to encourage these "hopeless" potential voters to register?

Follow up question on resolution 11064. We understand that the candidates should register their social media. But, how about if they hire a troll farm to spread misinformation. Will this resolution be effective? How can the COMELEC control trolls? Also, what is the sanctions for those politicians proven that they have troll farm?
Question:
The previous election highlighted significant gaps, such as delays in vote transmission, issues with the automated voting system, and concerns about transparency. What specific reforms or actions is being prioritized to ensure a smoother and more credible electoral process in 2025?
this is not to invalidate the works of our beloved journalists but i would just like to share my curiousity, two rappler personnel have stated that we must be educated on who to trust when it comes to spreading informations, they also have stated that some media company are being payed to release or provide information to the public, how do we make sure that rappler isn't part of this?
A question for anyone in the panel. We can clearly see that with recent disasters that have plagued batangas that the sentiment of " the government only tends to have action when the problem is clearly visible or told directly to them" is true. So is it really necessary for the citizens to be visibly suffering or tell them directly in order to have action? Shouldn't there be preemptive measures in order to prevent this since the government is well funded and has the resources to know before hand?
Question: Would there be any actions from COMELEC to impose stricter regulations for eligibility of filing COC?
For the SK and Journalists present
A lot of social media influencers and celebs are running for a political position and treats it as "on the job training", ano po ang masasabi nyo about this approach — should we look at the eagerness to serve or the credibility?
Takeaways
It’s important to note that it is essential to understand community members, exploring why they hold certain beliefs, the sources of their information, and the social influences that shape their perspectives. This insight allows us to develop approaches that truly resonate to the community.
Takeaways
