JUST IN. The PNVF says it will retain the Alas Pilipinas team that clinched bronze in the #AVCChallengeCup, and will add Bella Belen, Alyssa Solomon, as well as Casiey Dongallo to the mix.
“It’s a breakthrough, it’s historic, and the obvious next step is to keep this team intact and make it stronger and much more competitive,” PNVF head Ramon “Tats” Suzara said.
“And next year, in the SEA Games, I believe we’ll have a very strong fighting chance.”
Staying put in the national team from the pros are Jia de Guzman, Cherry Nunag, Dell Palomata, Dawn Catindig, Eya Laure, Faith Nisperos, Fifi Sharma, Jennifer Nierva, Sisi Rondina and Vanie Gandler.

Carlos Yulo is on track to advance to the men’s all-around final as he ranks eighth through two of the three qualification subdivisions with a total of 83.631 points. The top 24 – with a maximum of two per country – will reach the all-around final. He also hopes to reach two apparatus finals as he sits at second in floor exercise and sixth in vault, with the top eight (maximum of two per country) qualifying for the medal round.
