A beacon of hope indeed! 🫨❤️🔥 Ahtisa Manalo delivers a powerful response during the Judges’ question round, where she was asked what she would contribute to humanity as a global ambassador: “I want to be the hope of people. I come from a very poor background. I started pageants at 10 years old to put myself through school and to lift my family out of poverty. And if there’s anything that I want to show the universe, I’m here right now. I’m standing as Miss Universe because I was able to get myself out of any situation because I was hardworking, I was persistent, and I fight for what I want,” she concluded.

Solidaridad Bookshop was sold to Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste, the Ermita bookstore announced on Sunday, November 23.
In a Facebook post, Solidaridad Bookshop said Leviste’s investment was to ensure that the store could continue its operations “and help preserve the legacy of F. Sionil Jose with the continued advice of the Jose family.”
Leviste’s mother, senator Loren Legarda, was the longtime friend of the late F. Sionil Jose — the bookstore’s founder.
This comes just months after the owners told UST’s The Flame that the bookstore had been sold, only to later retract the statement, citing a “miscommunication among siblings.”

Miss Universe Côte D’Ivoire 2025 Olivia Yacé announced her resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania on Monday, November 24. She will also be relinquishing any future affiliations with the Miss Universe organization.
In a social media post, Yacé reiterated her need to stay true to her values and guiding principles — adding that this is what solidified her decision to step away from the title.
“As I stated on stage, it is my greatest wish to be a role model for the new generation, especially young girls. I encourage them to push their limits, to walk confidently into rooms where they believe they do not belong, and to proudly embrace their identity,” the beauty queen wrote.
Yacé finished as 4th runner-up in the prestigious pageant, while Mexico’s Fatima Bosch was named Miss Universe 2025.
