Back-up vocalist and percussionist Adam Corvera highlights the importance of preserving the Bisaya language through music and collaborating with Bisaya artists from all over the country, which their band and this concert aims to do.
“Concert jud ni siya, dili lang gig (This is a concert, not a gig). We worked with the best of Cebu,” Adam says.

Kenneth Corvera, the lead vocalist and guitarist, discusses how Bisaya music has been branded as “badoy” (uncool) over the years.
The band found motivation to write Bisaya songs in the Visayan Pop Songwriting Campaign, a competition featuring exclusively Bisaya songs. All three members of Oh! Caraga were finalists in this competition in the past.
“Pwede ra diay ta maghimo’g kanta in our own language… Kung dili sugdan, kinsa may mosugod? (We can make songs in our own language. If no one starts it, who will?)” Kenneth adds.

Back-up vocalist and guitarist Sherwin Fugoso says the Bisaya language is the band’s greatest asset in expressing their stories and identity, and their goal as a band is to help everyone recognize that.
“We’ll die trying… [The] Bisaya language is worth dying for,” Fugoso says.

Fugoso teases that their upcoming concert, happening on October 24, will be “ten times more fun” than their past shows.
“Ganahan namo ma-elevate ang Bisaya [music], so dapat elevated ang mga performance (We want to elevate Bisaya music, so we have to elevate our performance as well),” Kenneth adds.
Fans can look forward to live renditions of songs from Oh! Caraga’s two albums, along with guest performances from rising artists under Oh Caraga Music Corporation, the band’s independent record label committed to championing Bisaya talent.
In the future, Oh! Caraga hopes to mount a Bisaya music festival that can stand alongside some of the biggest national and international festivals.
For now, the band is focused on giving fans their best show yet at “Bagani sa Gugma” on October 24 at Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City.

The UAAP hands a hefty three-game suspension to UE star shooter Wello Lingolingo for "excessive and forceful contact" on a loose ball dive that tore La Salle star guard Kean Baclaan's right MCL and put him out for the rest of the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament. UE coach Chris Gavina, however, maintained it was a natural loose ball action, lambasting referees in an expletive-laced tirade on Wednesday, October 15, after La Salle's eventual 111-110 overtime victory. | via @JR Isaga - Rappler
