Good that they were caught. I find the naming of Samaniego hard to believe. Perhaps this should be investigated further because they're dragging the name of someone like Samaniego with a long record of fighting cyber-criminals. Are these hackers purposely besmirching Samaniego? What for? Or are they playing their "I-want-to-be-a-state-witness-in-exchange-for-lesser-charge" card by throwing names of those who pay for their exploits?

Kaspersky has always been that software that seems to be protecting us from rouge software but we've doubted this company for years because they are Russians and anything coming out of country managed by dictators has always been full of doubt because their government can influence/coerce them to do something for their government. We never recommended Kaspersky to our clients because of those lingering doubts - they could be a Trojan horse masquerading as a security company.
